The Problem with People is...

Add to My Yahoo!

Recently I asked the people of the MyLot Community what ticks them off. There were some beefs about technology and gas prices.

The one thing mentioned the most were people problems.

Here’s a link to the actual myLot discussion.

I’ve distilled the discussion comments down to this list of adjectives that were used to describe people.

  • Self-important
  • Self-Righteous
  • Hypocritical
  • Whiney
  • Moaning
  • Complaining
  • Lazy
  • Irresponsible
  • Negative
  • Judgmental
  • Greedy
  • Lying
  • Rude
  • Criminal
  • Free-loading
  • Uptight
  • Combative
  • Stupid
  • Illogical
  • Nosey
  • Gossipy
  • Selfish
  • Jealous

  • Now, since we all have to deal with people everyday in one way or another…

Don’t you think it would be better if we didn’t apply those labels to people. After you apply such a label don’t you tend to always see that person through the label.

Usually when you look at something or someone through something else you get a distorted image.

So the next time you find yourself applying labels instead of understanding, consider these words of Marcus Aurelius Antoninus...

"If you are pained by external things, it is not they that disturb you, but your own judgment of them. And it is in your power to wipe out that judgment now."

    Add to My Yahoo!

Did you know there is an important secret for getting what you want?

It's the most important thing you have to do. More importantly, until you do this one thing, nothing matters. Your dreams are just fantasies. Your goals will never be realized.

So what is the most important step? I'll tell you in a few days... I promise.

First I want to hear what others have to say in a discussion I started over on myLot.

Watch this blog for my answer.
